12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 Event!

On the fifth day of Christmas...
I love kitties! I have 3 real life kitties and I have 3 kitty patterns! Today's giveaway will have... you guessed it... 3 winners! The winners will be able to choose from one of my 3 cat patterns: Katie Kitten, Violet and the Wittle Whimsy Charles and Princess Kitty pattern! If you are not a sewer or already have all 3 patterns, I will offer a $9 store credit so that everyone can play!

For a chance to win one of these patterns... just leave me a comment letting me know the name of a favorite pet and maybe a little story (not required but would be fun to read!) We'll pick the winners by a random draw!

  1. My favorite pet was my cat Pinot Grigio. We called her Pinot. She was a little white kitten. We adopted her from the shelter. They had found her in a snow pile after a blizzard, she was only a few weeks old. She was so loving and like a little baby.... but only to me. She hated everyone else! ;-) We called her Pinot for short!

  3. Pitschi! That was our cat's name when i grew up. She was black and was a real cutie. There is a childrens book that is called pitschi and the cat looks excactly like ours did. I am not sure, but i think we called our kitty after the Book. I loved that cat!

  4. Growing up, we had a Cocker Spaniel mix pup. I named him Mr. T, after my favorite t.v. character. He rocked!
Also, I have to mention my 7-year-old kitty, Marley Mae. My son recently got diagnosed with a cat allergy, so we are trying to find her a new home. soooo bummed.

  5. My favorite pet growing up was a great collie mix dog we had...his name was Fred...We found him as a puppy in our chicken coop...someone had left him in there...and he became our family pet for a long time! As an adult my favorite pet has been my tortoise shell cat named Honey...she has been my baby for almost 13 years now.:)

  6. Duke was my favorite. He used to get upset when I swam out into the ocean too far for his liking so he would swim out after me. I would grab on to his tail and he would swim me back in. He was the best dog ever. He died at the age of 21.

  7. When I was a teenager I wanted a brown spotted dalmation so badly. But they were hard to find. After 6mths of looking I finally found one. He was soooo cute. I named him Oreo. He was my best friend for many years. He knew all of my secrets and dreams.

  8. I would have to say my favorite was my first dog ever, a cocker spaniel poodle mix, named Lady. She was the best. I could dress her up in doll clothes and put her in the basket on the front of my bike and ride around our neighborhood. She was so sweet. She walked me to the bus in the morning and was there waiting when I got home. I had her for over 11 years and I still miss her. My favorite cat would have to be Hazel who we still have and she is now over 12 years old!

  9. I don't think I can pick a favorite, but right now I'd have to say it's Bob our orange kitty who found us this past summer along with Rocket The Space Kitten. Cats seem to find me :)

  10. Our cats name is Mojo. We got him when we were trying to conceive a baby. Funnily enough I was a month pregnant when we got him (we didn't know). Our daughter Maya (2yrs) calls him 'Mo' and they have a great relationship. He always rubs up against her and makes her laugh

  11. I actualy found my favorite pet, a hamster in a recycling box once...I was at a home visit for a client, and I knocked on the door. It took the client a while to answer, and I'm standing in their apartment hallway, so I had time to just look around. there was a whole lot of junk in their hallway and one blue recycling box with pizza boxes, empty Starbucks cups, and other junk, including used tea bags. I for some reason thought that that was weird, that you couldn't recycle those things anyways. And then....a cute sweet little face looked up at me!

I asked the client if she knew there was a hamster in there and she said she did, that the hamster had chewed through a cage bottom and was just in there for a little while (looked like it had been in there for a lot longer than a little while!). I asked if I could have her, and she was very happy to give her to me. We found a cardboard box, and I took ehr to work with me, and then she came home...she was the cutest, most alert hamster I had ever taken care of. She lived another 2 years in my care, and I'll never forget my little Penny!

  14. I had a siamese cat named Ling ling when we just moved to texas from nebraska. He was the funniest cat. When my husband came home from work (he worked overnight) ling ling was all over him and would not let him go. When my son would play the DS, ling ling would play and he was actually pretty good. When my daughter was born he loved on her. he would cuddle with her and watch me feed her. Sadly he soon died. We lived in the country and the neighbors pack of dogs ate him. But I will always long my ling ling.

  16. I had a cat that we dubbed "Mister Cat" because he would look at us and sort of say, "That's MISTER cat to YOU!" His mother was killed by coyotes, so we raised him from a bottle and my dog, Kiki, mothered him, cleaned him, etc. He couldn't tell whether he was a cat or a dog, and would wait for me when I came home from school wagging his tail at the door :)

  17. My favorite pet was a cat named boo kitty. She was all black and hated everyone but me lol

  18. My favorite cat was Jessie... ended up being short for "Just a cat" She was grey allover with no special markings or anything... just a cat... but she was great.

  19. Blondie has been my companion for going on 16 years. I raised him from a 3 day orphan. I was given a litter of motherless kittens - and to me he was the cutest! Blue eyes and blonde tabby fur. Found homes for the ones that survived and kept him. Of course he is incredible spoiled and I love him dearly.

  21. I was a kid, I was painfully shy (still am at times). I didn't have a whole lot of friends because of this. My uncle gave me a ferret named Jasmine. It was seriously love at first sight. She was with me constantly. I let her roam free in my room when I was in school. While I was gone, she would climb into my clothing and sleep. One time I laid out my clothing the night before. I walked to school and halfway there, my pantsleg came alive. Jasmine had climbed into my pocket and I had no idea. She was my best friend and I still miss her to this day. I e had many pets since then and I've loved them all. I've just always loved Jasmine a little bit more. RIP Jasmine

  22. When my husband and I were engaged I lived alone in an apartment in a sketchy area so we thought it would be a good idea to get a little dog to keep me company. At the pound we found a little brindle pit bull mix (though we are pretty sure she is some kind of pug mix since she is so small) and she was the ugliest little puppy there that day. She had a crazy underbite, a snaggle tooth and a funny crooked tail, but she was the sweetest little thing! We named her Bella which is Italian for "beautiful" to be ironic (ugly dog named "beautiful", get it?) but she grew into a cute dog with an adorable personality :) We love our little Bella Boo!

  23. I had a dog named Nicky growing up. I got him for Christmas when I was 1 year old and he was just a few weeks old. We grew up together until I was around 14 and he had to be put to sleep. It was the hardest thing we had to do. But he was my best friend for many years and he was very loved.

  24. My favorite pet would definitely be my childhood dog, Telly. He was a Shetland Sheepdog, terrible breedtype and the best dog ever. My DH actually had a Shelty as a child also. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. My favorite pet was Leo, our English mastiff who thought she was a lap dog and wouldn't hurt a fly!

  26. I had never been a cat person ... my Dad trained me that way. "I don't like cats", he'd say, "they bend in the middle when you pick them up."

But then we promised the girls a real pet they could play with (ie. not a fish!), but would it be a cat or a dog? It came down to the fact that NO-ONE wanted to clean up poop in the backyard, and so we decided on indoor kitty. We adopted our kitten from the local RSPCA, and the second I held her she purred & purred and didn't stop until we signed the paperwork.

My dd suggested Ally as her name, and she is my little shadow. She curls up on my lap when it's chilly, and entertains us constantly with her kitten play.

It would seem I AM a cat person, and I bet my late Dad would have loved Ally ... even if she does bend in the middle when we pick her up :)

  27. I once had a bird that was convinced it was a rabbit after they shared a cage for awhile. It was so funny to watch them together. The bird would try to burrow like the rabbit by using its beak to flick dirt between its legs. Then it would sit on the rabbit's head and groom it. Sooooooooo cute!!!

  28. My favorite was an all black cat named Daniel. He was an awesome furbaby.

  29. Growing up we had a pet duck named Eli. When someone would come to the door or the dogs started barking, she would join in and 'bark' as well. She didn't take anything from our dogs or other dogs in the neighborhood; they were scared of her! I think she did really believe she was a dog because she didn't like the water either and really loved to be petted. Strange, I know.

  30. Fea she is a rescued cat from the humane society.. she is a constant "talker' who loves to play fetch but doesn't always get the concept.

  31. When I was in high school (and beyond!), I had a cat named Meatloaf. Once she snuck into a neighbor's house - the woman was selling her place and so had a realtor in and out, and the realtor didn't know Meatloaf didn't belong there. Meatloaf (apparently) hid in the house all day, and the woman eventually came home, cooked a 6 pound roast beef, and set it on the table to cool. She opened the front door and that's when the cat jumped on the table, grabbed the entire roast in her mouth, and bolted out the front door! The woman was so shocked but amused and she couldn't stop laughing. She told us about this a few days later (we replaced her roast). The even funnier thing is that cat was only about 6 pounds herself!

  32. So hard to pick just one but I would have to say Stormy my rescue dog will always hold a special place in my heart!

  33. Oreo the dog. Named so because blizzards had just come out at Dairy Queen (and my Grammie owned a DQ back then!) and he looked like an Oreo with his black fur, but white tummy. A friend who got a puppy at the same time named his lab Blizzard. So it was, when the two dogs got together, that they were an "Oreo Blizzard!"

    ReplyDelete
  34. Chloe - I got her as a puppy and she is the most loyal dog. She's pretty smart, too, but scared of her own shadow. LOL

  35. So many to choose from. But I guess,Cleo, short for Cleopatra. My daughter was given this little stray, from our neighbor. She was abandoned by her mother. We hand fed her.My daughter was her sergot mom. They slept together. Cleo would leave little kitty hickey's, on Melanie's neck. Cleo thought Melanie was her mom.Cleo is buried outside of Melanie's bedroom window. She was 14.

  36. My first ever pets were 2 goldfish. I called them Peter and Paul because they were fish and not dickie-birds...yk, like the rhyme...

    2 little dickie-birds sitting on a tree,
    one Peter, one named Paul,
Fly away Peter, Fly away Paul,
Come back Peter, come back Paul!

They were fun to watch while I was supposed to be doing my homework ;)

  37. I used to have 2 Great Danes....the female was Cleopatra (We called her Cleo) and the male was Cyprus. Loved them so much! Great dogs! Miss them but don't miss the work! LOL!

Cyprus was my baby and he thought he was a lap dog. He would sit with his backside on my lap and his paws on the floor in front of him. Was quite the sight! =)

Haha....I just noticed the Anonymous post 2 above me......another Cleo but a cat. That's too funny. =) Great minds think alike! Haha!

  38. We have a little Ragdoll Kitten coming to our home at the end of January , we are all very excited but are having trouble agreeing on a name for our little man !!!
I expect in the end we will pick a Tibetian name as we all love everything about Tibet and our daughters all have Tibetian middle names .

  39. When I was a kid I didn't have a pet in the house, but my grandparents who lived about 10 minutes away had a miniature schnauzer names Gladys. We adored her, she was sassy and playful but sweet at the same time. I can remember being about 8 or so, visiting my grandmother but also coming down with something and was feeling awful. I went to the bathroom and felt so ill that I lay down on the floor because I was burning up and the floor was cool. Gladys came in and licked my hand, she seemed to know that I was sick. I can remember being moved to the couch, but she lay right next to me on the floor to guard over me until my mother picked me up. She was truly a special dog and I still miss her!

  40. We got our dog Belle while looking for a bird at the pet store. Someone had found her and didnt know what to do with her. She was so small and covered in fleas so I took her in. We looked for an owner but never found one so she became ours!

  41. while growing up we had a siamese who would play fetch with a foil ball, come when you snapped your fingers and never once scratched or bit us and according to our parents as toddlers we'd drag her around the house by her tail. She was an amazing cat and actually lived to age 18.

  42. When I was a little girl I had a little black kitty named Miffy, after the Dick Bruna books. She was super sassy.

  43. We had the best Tabby a few years ago, her name was Lucy. Right now our family includes 4 baby boy RATS! Yes, rats... I know, I know, but they are adorable and fun and are NEVER mean, they lick like little puppies! :) I am the only female in our family and we all like Lord of the Rings....so we named our rats Frodo, Pippen, Merry and Samwise. :)

  44. We always had pets growing up: dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs--you name it--we had it. My Dad used to small game hunt and he had brittanies. I loved those dogs! My favorite was Skeeter. Not sure how she got that name but she was a great dog. I also had a cat named Turd. Yep. And he wouldn't come to anything but that name, so it used to be kind of funny when you were calling "Turd, Turd. C'mere Turd" out the front door. Then I had Bob the tailess mouse. Mike caught him in a mousetrap by his tail and we threw him in a cage. He was actually pretty neat--didn't smell--didn't bite--just a cute little brown and white field mouse with no tail.
Well, I could go on and on with my favorite pets/names but I won't. I will mention my chow chow named Tesla tho--loved that name--fit her--she was a gorgeous dog.

  51. It's too hard to pick just one! My first pet was Chester the cat. My mom won him off a local radio show when I was in high school. He was the best cat ever! Always wanting to snuggle and knew when you were down and having a bad day.

  52. I love cats, but hubs is really allergic. A couple days ago he decided I could have a kitty, a little black kitten that my cousin was giving away. We brought him home three nights ago and he is definitely part of the family! The girls LOVE him, and fight over whose turn it is to hold him. While deciding what to name him, Drama Queen Josie was whining over a "boo-boo" on her hand, and Ben was petting the kitty saying "boo boo, boo boo." So we have a little kitty Boo Boo. :)

  53. My husband & kids love cats. Unfortunately, I am VERY allergic to them. His parents have a couple of cats, Momma Cat & Mr. Butters. :) The kids love to play with Mr. Butters, he hides under the bed & they roll toy balls under the bed & he rolls them back to them. It's pretty funny to watch & he's a great cat, even if I usually leave there sneezing uncontrollably & with itchy eyes!

  54. I have to say my cat Salem is my favorite pet. I adopted him 14 years ago when I was 16 and he's been by my side through the good and bad times. He's just so sweet and loves to cuddle. He's my buddy. :)

  55. Our dog growing up, Mick. My older brother brought him home a few weeks after our dad died. Mick lost his house in a fire and his family couldn't care for him anymore and so he became our dog! He lived until a ripe old age and died peacefully in his sleep one night.

We also have a gaggle of animals right now, including two cats, Bailey and Gordon that we got from the shelter last year. They are ridiculous, fight like brothers. Much like my two boys. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Our current dog, Bobby (lab/pit mix). She is everything you'd want a dog to be - loyal, protective, tolerant of our daughter (when she was a baby and would pull ears/tails/etc), and more cuddly than any other pet I've ever known. There have been times when I've rolled over in bed to find her sweet face lying on the pillow next to me. She is the best! (I'm allergic to cats :( )

  57. My cats are Mable and Grace - I got them before I met my husband, and it turns out that my husband's grandmothers' names were Mable and Grace!

  58. My favorite pet was named Bishop! He was a solid black cat! He got his name because he used to play with my marble chess set all the time!

  59. I loved all the pets we had growing up but none compare to the dog Ayla my husband and I adopted from a shelter soon after we married. She is definitely our first baby and taking care of her taught us so much about one another.

  60. I narrowed it down by story because I couldn't choose a favorite. We have a cat named Radar. He is named for his ears. He is a devon rex and if you have ever seen one, you would know how he got his name. Anyway, my mom had just made the most beautiful pie, homemade crust and all, for a family gathering. She was so proud of it. We were packing things up getting ready to leave. She put the pie along with some other items in a box to carry them out to the car. We all know how cats looovve boxes and warm places. Needless to say, when we went to load the box into the car, we found Radar nice and cozy warm on top of the pie in the box. My mom was devastated.

  61. In gradeschool I had a big dog, Lucky. He was half German Shepherd and half Black Lab. He followed me everywhere and was very protective of me. When I was 9 1/2 my baby brother was born. Lucky wasn't impressed with the amount of attention that went to the baby, so my folks found him a new home. I of course asked if we could find an alternate home for my new brother instead.

  62. >^..^<

i wish i was such a good story teller! i read every single word of every post & adore all of these stories! i was saying "aww" out loud on almost every one :) i think every account & sentiment can match all of our years with our pets.

I've had lots of kittys over the years with every personality available on the spectrum & loved & still miss every one. my skittish Petri (Pee-Tree) (he had huge sonic ears & looked like the dinosaur from Land Before Time) is the one i miss most & like many of the accounts, he love me and me only. he was nowhere to be found when others were in the house. he had a huge gray paw print marking on his back & whenever i would go potty, he would follow me & hop into the bathtub so he could catch droplets from the faucet. as soon as he heard the flush - he was done too LOL such a weird little kitty but he made me laugh and laugh and laugh & kept me warm when i was resting.

we currently have 2 gerbils & they are descendants of the BOY gerbil we rescued named Jaz. HE ended up being JazMINE because she had a litter of 12 pups a few weeks after! we were so excited when Bit of Whimsy introduced the Hammy pattern because we're translating it into gerbils to resemble our adored & fallen but not forgotten >^..^< Gerbils are the BEST pets ever! Extremely entertaining & smart. Very cheap/affordable to maintain. And no smellies!

Thanks for the contest. And thank you everyone for the wonderful stories. I'm making the "cats bend in the middle" my fb status today! LoL

Anyways I had to share a room with 2 of my younger sisters I was prolly around 12 - 13 and my sister whom I shared a bed with was around 4.... One night she started to scream DAD! DAD! DAD! Sniffers is in my bed!!...Dad ran upstairs only to find I had my back towards her and all she could see was my hair (I had the blankets pulled up) which was dark like our dogs...lol here we go.. I was snoring and she thought I was the dog (Sniffers)!! My dad thought this was just hiliarious and of course I thought he made it up because well I don't snore lol. We still laugh about this one!

  66. Has to be Turbo, the dog from my high school days. She kinda became the 'town dog' in all her wandering - but she always came back, until I went to college. We think one of her other families moved and took her with them. It's funny, because her son was the same way. He would disappear for a few days and come back home to my parents wearing a new collar or a sweater! They found out who his other family was and it was a friend on the other side of town. They ended up letting her have him because she loved him so much.

  67. Yea! I love kitties, too.
I've been a crazy cat lady since I was fifteen.

We have two feral cats that my uncle saved. They are the sweetest little white, flame point brother and sister you've ever seen.
The kids named them Pookie and Sarafina.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm a kittie lover too, although sadly we had to put the eldest of our 4 to sleep last week. We like to pick unusual names for our pets:
Pushkar (cat) - name after a festival in India
Fitz-Henry (cat) - after a restaurant in Edinburgh
Padmina (cat) - sounds like pashmina
Minty (cat) - should have been Monty then we found out she was a girl
Modbury (dog, out latest edition) - named after a village near where we got married.

  69. I grew up with kitties and love them, but my husband is alergic, so we will never have them! Bitsy was one of the cats we had. I remember when I was little and would be sitting on the couch and she would hit my hair with her paw. She was a very friendly kitty!

He got me through some super hard times and was just amazing sadly he passed away 9/12/09 :( but my current pets are quite good at filling the void lol

  72. My favorite pets (can't pick one!) are my two current dogs. They are Chinese Cresteds, and although they are the same breed they are each SO different. My female, LuLu, is almost entirely hairless and my male, Kingston, is covered in long puffy hair on his whole body. They are the sweetest and strangest dogs I've ever had. Also, I'm getting a kitten next week and i'm super excited, so having the Katie Kitten pattern would be great so I can make a look-a-like doll of him. :)

  74. Growing up my mom had 7 beautiful kitties. Let's see if I can remember them all...Andrae, Autumn, Fluffy, Chester, Seven, Spidey, and Tinkerbell. Andrae was named after Andre Agassi the tennis player because he had a love for catching paper balls that we made for him and flicked with our fingers in the air, he would actually catch them between his paws!! Plus my mom had a very big crush on Andre Agassi! hehe...Seven was a pure white deaf kitty, he could sleep through everything! Autumn and Tinkerbell were both calico kitties and they were very whiny! We called them the princesses of the house! You literally had to walk on eggshells around them or they would whine! Spidey was another pure white cat but he wasn't death, just very plump, furry, and fat! His belly wobble to and fro everywhere he went! Fluffy, she was the oldest of the family, very old...we called her the grandma cat! Chester was a big orange tiger! He was the fattest of them all sometimes nicknamed "Garfield" and all Chester loved to do was eat, sleep and get pets!

  76. My husband had 2 cats before we got married and we got a kitten after we were married. When my husband opened the cage the kitten was in at the vets office the first thing she did was sit on his shoulder like a pirates parrot. It was the strangest thing I have ever seen a cat do. She stayed on his shoulder while he walked around Pet Smart after he adopted her. She still jumps on his shoulder and will stay there even if he takes a short walk outside or around the house. When my kids were born they were the cats best friends. When my son was a baby if he hurt her accidently the cat would get up walk over to my husband and bite him. She would never bite the baby. I guess she was saying HAY! Watch your baby! Now that we have an eight month old daughter the cat is all over her. She will walk over to her and rub up against her like she is petting her and the cat will let the baby pet her while the cat sits in front of her. It is so cute. The other 2 cats want nothing to do with the kids.

  77. I have 5 pets,3 cats and 2 dogs and they all are so special to me. Growing up my mother was afraid of animals so I never was allowed to have any, being an only child it meant a very lonely childhood at times. When my boyfriend (now husband) moved out of his house after college he promised to get me a dog. Sadly the apartment he rented didnt allow them so he got me 2 kittens instead, Griffin and Hunter. While I had never wanted a cat before I now cant imagine my life without cats and as the years went on we added a 3rd cat even. I did eventually get that dog I wanted so badly (Ellie) and while I love all my pets so much she definitely holds a special piece of my heart. For starters she is the only other girl in the house in our ever expanding boys club (we added an addition this year with the birth of our first child, a son) However Ellie is even more precious to me because she came into my life when I needed her the most. Shortly after my husband and I got married we found ourselves unexpectedly pregnant. This was not planned (we were less then 6 months into our marriage) and we werent ready financially, mentally, emotionally. We wanted children but not just yet and this threw us for a loop. Instead of being happy at first I hate to say we were quite upset and wondering what this meant for all our beautifully laid plans. It took about a week but we came around and started to really love this new journey God had given us. We affectionately named the baby Peanut and we were so excited. Then it happened, I started to bleed and at an ultrasound it was confirmed we had lost Peanut. I of course believed it was my negative attitude that did this. A child is a blessing no matter when it comes and I was too selfish thinking only about my own life and now he/she was taken from me. I cried, I was depressed I hated myself. Then Ellie came into my life. We had been planning for a puppy that summer but when we found out we were pregnant we canceled that since I knew I couldnt care for both a baby and a puppy. After our loss my husband found a friend of the breeder we were talking to that had a 6 month old girl who didnt pan out for the show ring looking for a home. We got Ellie and she turned my life around. i had a new focus, I couldnt stay in bed all day Ellie needed me. She helped me through that low point in my life and is still my sweet little girl. I love her more then she will know for how she filled in the gap in my heart I thought would never heal.

  78. We have 2 cats and one dog. Our cats are Mowgli and Tigger and our Dog is Brutus, he is a Yorkie and I just love him! We got him about 3 weeks before the twins were born and his favorite spot to lay was right on top of my very pregnant belly! I was great, he was so tiny and he would fit right in the palm of my hand. He kept me company during the last part of my bedrest. He still likes to lay right on top of me and I wouldn't have it any other way!

  79. My favorite pet is our cat, aptly named "kitty." haha!

I've had him since my Sr. year in High School (10 years ago!). I brought him home from my then-boyfriends farm--he was a barn kitten, and I was absoluetly smitten. My parents were not on board with him at first--I had to take him to the vet--he had respitory issues and had frozen the tip of his little tail off, but over time he won their hearts. When I went away to college and eventually moved to Phoenix he stayed with my parents. They divorced a few years later, and my dad got rid of the dog and the other cat, but kept Kitty--as he had grown to love the little orange cat I had dragged home. Eventually he started dating, and met a woman with a dog--when they moved in together, I got my kitty back. He's been back with me now for about 4 years, and he's the perfect addition to our family. He is the most loving, passive cat ever--he lets my 1 year old song hold him, 'pet' him, and love on him, and never fights back! :) I hope we have many more years with him!

  80. My brother and I had a sweet cat named Sammie when I was about 8 years old. He was the only solid white kitten when we chose him out of the litter when he was only a few days old. His mom and siblings were all black/white tuxedo cats. We were shocked when we went back to get him a few weeks later, and he had changed colors! He had turned into a gorgeous little kitty, cream with chocolate tips and bright blue eyes. The daddy cat must have been Siamese! Sammie was our constant companion for about a year, and we were heartbroken when he was hit by a car. We have many photos of us with Sammie, and he was featured in a lot of my artwork. I even have a shrinky-dink ornament I made of him when I was little hanging on the Christmas tree!

  81. My favorite pet is Bullwinkle. Bullwinkle is our dog(half bassinet and half something else). He is 11 yrs. You couldn't ask for a better dog.He lets the kids climb all over him and he just sit there. He is how my husband and I meant. I work at a vet clinic in high school. Bullwinkle got sick and I took care of him. He got better and the rest is history. He is the best dog ever!

  85. We only have the two pets so of course we can't have a favorite ;) Our cats are named Boogers and Allie and even though there's a 6 year difference in their ages they both still act like kittens. When boogers was only a few months old he could actually play fetch and catch his toy mice in the air. He was such an entertaining little cat! :)

  87. Recently, a little flea bitten kitten was trying to follow us into the post office, and ended up riding in my lap on the 30 minute drive back to our home. She is sweet as can be, and we have named her Nessarose (we already have an Elphaba). Thanks again for the lovely giveaways! We adore your Violet pattern here!

  88. My favorite was my Australian Shepard Lucy. I bought her with my own money at a horse show when I was 15 :) She was the fluffliest cutest little thing! And she grew into a beautiful dog that always got compliments on how pretty she was and how well behaved. We just had to put her down about 6 months ago due to old age and it was one of my hardest days but I knew I was helping her and she would still be in a place where she is loved just as much <3 I really miss her.

  89. Our favorite pet is Gizmo. He is a full breed Pekinese that we got 12 years ago. He was the last of the litter and nobody wanted him. So he became ours. He was our first child before our son was born a year later. He is very gentle with the kids.

  90. I used to have a guinea pig named Mr. Fluffywuffagus. He was had curly long hair that fell over his eyes and for some reason I started calling them wuffagusses (maybe from my childhood love of Snuffy on Sesame Street?)and his name evolved from there. We also used to have two guinea pigs that would often escape from their cage and run up and down the stairs at night (I kid you not!). My brothers and I woke up one night to strange noises and watched the whole thing play out. Up up up, down down down. They absolutely loved it! lol

  92. We chose our guinea pig, "Bill" because his long sandy brown hair reminded us of our second daughter who has fine, wavy, sandy coloured hair. It was just so cute I couldn't leave him in the pet store :-)

  95. My first pet, at age four, was a black cat who loved to fetch those little eraser-like toys that came in McDonad's happy meals. I named him Blacky Whitey Furry Norton. Currently, I have Harley, a rescued stray, who got his name from my husband. Harley's purr is very load and he sort of rumbles, just like the motorcycle.

She loves people and giving a ton of licks! Ever since my daughter was born, 6 months ago, she has been so sweet. Bettie and Elora are inseperable and Bettie keeps Elora laughing all day! So cute!!

My favorite pet is Bella - she is our Standard Poodle, and I just love her she is the best dog for our family, she is great, just so sweet to the girls and is almost like the dog in Peter Pan and helps watch the girls. One time my oldest daughter who is almost three left the house while I was bathing the baby and Bella come in all crazy so I followed her out and she showed me where my daughter was. She really is a great dog. My husband is allergic to cats so no cats for us so I would love to get a cute little cat pattern so I can make a cat for my daughters.

  100. My favorite pet is my kitty Piper. She is 20 years old and still has a lot of life left. She has been with me through my middle school, high school, college, wedding, and 1st child. It will be a sad day when she is no longer with us. My little toddler lovers her and calls her "Pip."

  101. How about an un-favorite pet? I have a dog named Meeko who is seriously the worst dog in the world! I love her so much even though she constantly steals things and chews them up. I can't imagine what my life would look like without her.. except for owing a lot more shoes, purses, cell phones, clothes.. you name it!

One winter I paid way too much for a gorgeous purple sweater that I really didn't need. I had set it on the couch while I ran to the bathroom. When I came out it was gone. I went to the window and there was my lovely purple sweater whipping in the wind as Meeko pranced around the back yard with it. I loved it so much that I ended up buying another one to replace that one and paid twice as much for a sweater I didn't need in the first place!

  102. My favorite fur kid was Boss. He was a Shih Tzu. He was great as he is who kept me company while my husband was deployed overseas. He ended up running away while we went home to visit family and got hit by a car. He lost an eye and became agitated by my in your face toddler. We had to pass him on to a family that could accommodate him and his personality change better. I miss him but realize I could not have a dog that *might* bite with the little ones I have. He worked well with the family he was rehomed with.

  105. My favorite cat name is Moose!! Moose was an orange tabby cat that lived with my in-laws, they adopted him at a shelter and he was an adult. I loved visiting them in the winter because more than likely you would find Moose warming himself by the wood stove!

  111. My favorite pet was my cat Tootsie. She was a black short hair but had a white patch shaped like a smile on her belly. She passed away a couple of years ago. She had the softest fur of any cat or animal I have ever petted. She liked to curl up next to me and knead away around my arm pit. I currently have a long hair gray tabby cat named Ruby. Her favorite spot to hang out is on the roof on top of the chimney! Thank goodness we don't use that fireplace!
