Let the Giving Begin!

In early 2011, the Bit of Whimsy Dolls team decided to give back to others in need by selecting a charity each month and donating a portion of our sales for that month to that charity. These campaigns were extremely successful and inspiring to all of us and along the way we met several friends! We're forever grateful and thankful to all of you for allowing us to have these giving opportunities.  Together, we made a difference.

In 2012, we've decided to focus our charitable efforts with one particular charity that holds the same core values for helping others, believing in what is right, and supporting small town American values.  Mercury One is that charity.

Going forward, our efforts for charitable giving will center around planned fund raising activities of Mercury One and things we do on our own with the proceeds from these activities being donated to Mercury One.  This charity is very young, about one year old, but they've already made a huge difference in the lives of many people affected by devastating tornadoes that hit the mid-west and south over the past months.

Mercury One's mission statement is "To inspire, organize and mobilize individuals to improve the human condition physically, emotionally and spiritually with malice towards none and charity for all."

With this post, we are announcing the first of several activities Bit of Whimsy Dolls will be doing to support Mercury One raise funds and awareness for their charitable actions.
For the next 5 days, an original Bit of Whimsy Dolls Mae doll (Suzanna Mae) will be available for auction on eBay her listing can be found here:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140732618970#ht_500wt_989  Thank you all in advance for your bids!  Let's see what the Bit of Whimsy Dolls community can do to help others!

50% of the sale price will be donated to Mercury One at the conclusion of the auction which ends April 3rd around 8pm Eastern.
